| What is this? |
The Derelict Project is designed to give game hosts and script creators a "bag of tricks" to add flavor to custom games. It is not designed to be a playable race for a normal game. It is designed to be played by a host, A.I or NPC (non-player-character) player to add flavor to a scripted game. The Project is partnering with Crayon World to help with the creation of graphics for the ships created for the Derelict Project. |
| Contribute? | This Project invites the submission of Ideas, Stats or Graphics from the VGAP4 community. While Greg will retain creative control over the direction of the project, all credit will given where it is due and all are welcome to submit ideas, stats, and/or graphics for consideration. Ultimately - all ideas will be considered - but Greg (advised by his Core Members) will adjudicate what is "Included" in the DP Racepack - and when. There are three phases for "things" 1) Things under development/consideration for inclusion into The Derelict Project 2) Things that have been included into The Derelict Project - either completed or still in development... and hopefully - one day - 3) Things that have been included into the Game itself! One day???!!! 8) |
| To submit... | Just send in your idea.... Ideas - A good description of what it should "do" or it's effects. Ideas are posted on the Ideas section for discussion by the community. This area is Administered by Olly Harlow (the secretary) - so check out the Ideas Section for the Terms of Reference and send e-mails to dp_ideas@twoflower.fsnet.co.uk with your ideas. Stats - an HTML page in the format of those already posted is preferred. Send them in to either Greg or Olly. If Greg gets a *buzz* he may include it right away - otherwise it goes in the Ideas Area... Graphics - there are two methods for this 1) To participate with Crayon World with Open Source presentation of your artwork (see CW's site for terms) submit it to that site and mark it for use in the Derelict Project as well as submitting to the Derelict Project 2) If you do not want to participate in the Open Source project at Crayon World, only submit to the DP. |

| The Squatters The Squatters are a place holder for all the others. They will be a generic race with nothing special. They will be able to build any of the standard buildings. They will have a selection of ships for planetary defense. The design idea behind them is to have bases in a scripted game for players to try to capture or create Bases with defense systems. They could also be used for a plain vanilla race. Considering of giving them a Gun Zero <Robots>. |

| The Traders
The Traders will have a number of hulls. Some trading posts, and trading vessels. They will have large cargo and pod bays. Script writers can then put what ever they want on them and use that to trade with players or provide services. |

| Derelicts
The main part of the Project. We will be open to other VGAPers contributions in this area, art work, ship ideas. So if you have a ship to add, or an idea, email us. Some of the ships in this area are themed after current races, but others can be completely alien. What ever you think will add to the game and isn't already in there. Powerful monsters aren't exactly what we are looking for. |

| Special Ships This is the section where there will be ships that are meant to be a tool of some sort, not generally for other players to capture. Hosts and Script Writers will use them as a means to an end. |
