I was thinking about Douglas Adams "Hitch-Hikers Guide" etc an in
particular "the shoe event-horizon" and also of Terry Pratchett and the book
with the "magical shopping centre (mall)" with all it's hive-mind shopping
trollies and I'm wondering if the following is possible?
A sort of
viral/living base structure? Spread by "shopping trolley" pods?
The base
structure builds itself in your base and
(not sure)
increases happiness
- people like buying shoes
wastes money - fashion is wasteful
reduces %
workforce - people are too busy wearing their shoes and
being fashionable?
you can destroy the malls, but at a serious
happiness penalty?
you might have to anyway - or at the least "cull" them
because they "breed" and send off "shopping trolley pods" to seed the galaxy?
Perhaps if you don't the "shoe event-horizon" occurs and the economy
collapses?
It's obviously another "silly" and potentially only "annoying"
monster, and probably impossible to implement, unless the trollies are a race
and all they do is build shopping centres.
Overall the effect should
be to "simulate" Fashion?

custom structures they can natively build.
