Version 1.0.1 (August 15, 2004)
Revision to Brother weapon mount counts, ord capacity and engine
hardness.
Revision to Sister weapon mount counts and hardness
statistics.
Lightened up the Mother's hull mass and added
armor. Adjusted towing and construction bay statistics
accordingly.
Increased the Mother's hull speed to 80 from 60.
For any larger sized map it could take forever to get anywhere.
Changed starting ship load-out so Sister will generate
enough revenue to make Whisps periodically.
Increased HG on start-up ships since Braphat have no
other reliable source of GC's. Need to get to hull tech 4 quickly
to have any combat ships.
Softened up Type 2 and Type 3 Fighters by reducing
numbers of weapons, charge rates and battery.

Slight revision to the design code to use training rate numbers
rather than a hard coded number for the special scenarios when there
are excess guests and crew upgraded.
Added race anthem and other silly bits to make the
spiders race pack whole.

Updates made following 3rd Party Race Vote 2004! Many thanks
to all that enthusiastically supported the Braphat.
Hardened the Mother vulnerability statistics.
Eliminated the Cloaking Field device from the
Mother. It seemed to worry quite a few folks.
Reduced the Brother Warp signature to compensate for
elimination of the Cloaking field and make him a little more sneaky if
not scanning.
The Braphat cannot chunnel or use jump-points or
jump-point generating ally ships.
Some modifications made to Boarding Laser damage.
Crew and guests are less vulnerable than other races. The premise
of the damage for humanoids was for the decompression effects.
For the Braphat they evolved in space so it is not as inhospitable for
them. Hull damage still applies.
Tripled the size of the Brother Repair unit capacity.

Modifications to the Brother. Reduced scan range from 360 to 160, increased cost from 750 to 1600.
Reduced the mite generator power from 12 to 6. This was not exactly a powerhouse fighter, but cheap.
Considering - Slowed down Mother to avoid early game knock out of HW's.
All shields eliminated. Some armor added to partially compensate.
Removed bit on Mother that made baby Mother's run away. Implementation would be a pain. Results confusing.
Cut back the contraband conversion output and made contraband conversion and gathering more explicit.
Eliminated hives from the starting line-up. They will have to wait for quite a long time to have more than the initial fighters.

Removed the Super Laser from Mother and added the Mind Crusher. I believe it fits will with the race.
Added a number of device immunities to special ability section. It would not make sense to Siren Haarp spider guts.
Modified Digester to work somewhat like Reticulian Med Lab and generate Meds and MC's in addition to food. Rates were adjusted accordingly, increasing the incentive to play aggressively and go after enemy bases.
Clarified text regarding ground bases and assaults...The Braphat have no ground base or ground attack capability. All attacks are orbital attacks.
Added Contra gathering scheme and result of contra consumption. Tax rates adjusted down since original conception was to ignore contraband.
Review indicates Tick was too powerful. Cut generator down 50% to 15 instead of 30...but increased the shields from 8 to 10 since Ticks ought to be tough.
Added resource point model so they are more in line with other races.

Thanks to Scytale for very good feedback on fighters. Each one is much more distinct now and balanced with most fighters in the game...I think.
Changed growth model to accomodate food consumption in addition to Meds.
Graphics are good to go with addition of leader close-up.

Boost Sister mass to 340 and towing power to 5000.
Boost Brother mass to 220 which is their tow limit.
Pulled the DTMS-N Converter off of Hives and cargo sizes reduced. Added fuel drill onto mother to complete planet stripping capability.
Pull the missles off of the type 1 fighter.
Whack down Mother super weapon choices.
Lower cost of Mother slightly ~ 15%.

Increased Guest and Crew size of Sister ship so they can generate enough of their own income to build Whisp hulls.
